Technology Education

Technology Education gives students an in-depth knowledge of technological systems, engineering, and design-oriented solutions while preparing you for Technology Education teaching certification through the Virginia Department of Education. Students of this program are prepared for successful licensure in Technology Education (Grades 6-12) and in this highly sought after field of study.

A technology education teacher provides instruction, support, management, and leadership to facilitate success for all students. They often advise their school’s Technology Student Association (TSA) chapter while fostering student leadership through career related competitive events. Working with local businesses and in school laboratories, they also provide supervised experience in locally and regionally based industries.
